Official rules and terms and conditions

PURCHASE OF ENTRY IS UNDER THESE TERMS AND IS A BINDING CONTRACT BETWEEN YOU AND THE PRINCIPLE PROMOTERS (BREAK). PLEASE READ CAREFULLY 

No purchase, payment, or donation of any kind is necessary to enter or win. All entries into the Safari Prize Draw have an equal chance of winning. 

  1. THE PROMOTER: The Safari Prize Draw ("the Prize Draw") is operated by Break (Charity No. 286650) and The Zoological Society of East Anglia (ZSEA) (Charity No. 1150158) ("The Promoters"). All proceeds from the Prize Draw will be split equally between the two charities.  Break are the principle promotor and hold ultimate responsibility for administering and delivering The Prize Draw.  
  1. APPLICABILITY OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES: These Official Rules provide the general terms and conditions applicable to The Prize Draw and are subject to all applicable international and local laws and regulations and is void where it is not permitted under local laws and regulations. 
  1. Binding Contract. These Official Rules form a binding contract between Promoter and each Prize Draw participant (a “Participant”). Entry into The Prize Draw constitutes Participant’s agreement to the Official Rules and Promoter’s decisions which are final and binding in all matters relating to The Prize Draw. If you do not agree to these Official Rules do not enter the Prize Draw. 
  1. ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to enter The Prize Draw or be awarded the prize a Participant must fully comply with the Official Rules. The Prize Draw is only open to individuals who at the time of entry and at the time the Winner is selected: (i) are at least 18 years of age; (ii) are NOT in one or more of the “Prohibited Persons” categories listed in Section 4.A.i. (below); and (iii) are legal residents in the United Kingdom. Break may require Participants to provide documentary evidence (e.g. copy of a passport, driving licence or recent utility bill) to verify eligibility. 
  1. Prohibited persons: The following individuals are not eligible to enter or win a Prize Draw: 
  1. any paid employees of The Promotors. 
  1. the immediate family members of (meaning, spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and/or those living in the same household (whether or not related) as anyone employed by the Promotors and being a member of the leadership team or GoGoSafari project team of The promotors.   
  1. HOW TO ENTER: The Prize Draw will run from 30 April until 19 October (the “Entry Period”). Only those entries received by the Promoter during the Entry Period will be valid.  
  1. Method of entry 1: Paid Method of Entry (“ Paid Method of Entry”): 

To enter by this method, tickets may be purchased in person form official Break charity shops, in person from Break or ZSEA events or online at www.break-charity.org/winasafari, where you can choose the applicable entry fee amount to purchase entries (“Entry Fee”). Each Entry Fee amount will come with a set number of entries. Once your payment is complete, you will automatically receive the number of entries you selected and be entered that many times for a chance to win The Prize Draw. You can enter as many times as you wish. 

Break may, at its discretion, run various promotions in connection with the Paid Method of Entry. For example, it may, for a temporary period during the Entry Period, offer Participants “bonus entries” or run reader promotions within partner publications (such as the EDP) in connection with the Paid Method of Entry. Each entry that is purchased in connection with any special promotion (a) will constitute a single, independent entry (b) will be treated in exactly the same way as any other entry, and (c) will have the same chance of winning as any other entry.  

Eastern Daily Press and Norwich Evening News Entry terms and conditions: To enter, collect up to 30 tokens printed in paper between 23 June - 31 August to receive up to 30 entries into the prize draw. Tokens must be submitted in multiples of 10. Post your tokens and entry form to Safari Adventure Competition, EDP Evening News, Prospect House, Rouen Road, Norwich, Norfolk NR1 1RE. Closing date for entries is Tuesday 9 September 2025. This prize draw is open to both print readers, and those that purchase prize draw tickets from Break. One winner will be selected at random from all entries made through tokens collected in the EDP, Evening News and prize draw ticket purchases. Vouchers are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives. If the holiday booked is worth less than £10,000 then the difference will not be given to the prize winner, costs over £10,000 is to be covered by the winner. This voucher can only be redeemed on a new package holiday booked through an East of England Co-op Travel branch and cannot be applied to existing balances or bookings.   1. Alternate Method of Entry (“Alternate Method of Entry”) 

Write or type your full, legal name, home address (no post office box addresses accepted), city, post code, phone number (optional), email address and words “Safari Prize Draw”, on either a postcard or letter. Post the completed entry to: Safari Prize Draw c/o Dan Crouch, Break, Scofield House, Norwich, NR6 6BX . No mechanically reproduced entries or automatically franked entries are permitted. There is a limit of one (1) entry per outer mailing envelope or postcard. Each eligible entry received via the Alternate Method of Entry will be equivalent to a single entry into the Prize Draw. The entry will be deemed to be submitted at the point of receipt and processing by the Promoter. You can enter by the Alternate Method of Entry as many times as you wish. 

  1. ENTRY LIMITATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS: Only accurate and complete entries submitted and received by The Promoter during the Entry Period are eligible. Any inaccurate, incomplete, illegible, corrupted, or untimely entries are void and ineligible to win. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Promoter. Promoter is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, mutilated, delayed, postage due, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, misdirected, technically corrupted or garbled entries, or for other submission problems of any kind, whether caused by mechanical, human or electronic error, all of which are void and ineligible to win. Additionally, The Promoter is not responsible for any telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties. If a Participant’s entry fee is refunded, any entries associated with such entry fee will be withdrawn and not eligible to win. 
  1. Required Information: Participants must provide all required information specified on the entry form or physical ticket to be eligible to enter and win. 
  1. Valid Email Address: To receive valid entries, at the time of submission, Participant must provide a valid email address for which the Participant is the authorised owner. Multiple Participants may not share the same email address. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of any Participant, the authorised account holder of the email address used to enter will be deemed to be the Participant.  
  1. No Automated Entry Devices: All entries must be submitted by the individual Participant to be valid.  No copies, facsimiles, or other mechanical or electronic reproductions of entries will be accepted. Promoter, using its reasonable discretion, will determine whether a Participant has used or attempted to use any such prohibited automated entry methods. 
  1. Contact Details: By entering The Prize Draw, you agree that Break may contact you via email, phone, and mail in connection with the Prize Draw in accordance with Break’s standard Privacy Notice. 
  1. RELEASE: The Participant releases the Prize Draw Partners, and any advertising platform used in connection with the promotion of The Prize Draw, from all liability, loss or damage or expense arising out of or in connection with participation in The Prize Draw or the acceptance, use, or misuse of The Prize. 
  1. WINNER DRAWINGS: The Potential winner of The Prize Draw (“Potential Winner”) will be selected using a verifiably random process from among all eligible entries received. The drawing will occur on or after the end of the Entry Period. The selected winning unique entry will be announced following the drawing, with the identity of the winner announced following the completion of all verification processes in accordance with these Official Rules. Once confirmed and verified as eligible to win, a Potential Winner is referred to herein as a “Winner.”  
  1. WINNER NOTIFICATION PROCESS: Potential Winners will be contacted using the email address used to enter the Prize Draw and may be awarded the Prize subject to confirmation of verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these Official Rules (including the applicable Experience Rules and Additional Rules). Potential Winners must respond to the Potential Winner notification email within 7 day of it being sent. If a Potential Winner fails to respond to the notification email within the stated timeframe, then that Potential Winner may be disqualified and will forfeit any claim to The Prize. After sending the Potential Winner notification email, to the extent a phone number has been provided, Promoter reserves the right to also contact Potential Winners via phone as well. 
  1. WINNER DISQUALIFICATION: A Participant, Potential Winner and/or Winner may be ineligible to receive the Prize(s) and/or disqualified for the following reasons: (i) failures to meet all of the eligibility requirements stated in the Official Rules, (ii) failures to abide by these Official Rules, If a Potential Winner is determined to be ineligible and/or disqualified for any reason, an alternate Potential Winner will be selected using a verifiably random process from among all remaining eligible entries. This process will be repeated until the Prize is awarded. Any alternate Potential Winner will be notified as per the procedures outlined in these Official Rules. 
  1. PRIZE:  The “Prize” is a £10,000 travel voucher, the Prize has been donated by East of England Co-op Travel (www.eastofengland.coop/travel).  

If the holiday booked is worth less than £10,000 then the difference will not be given to the prize winner. This voucher can only be redeemed on a new package holiday booked through an East of England Co-op Travel branch and cannot be applied to existing balances or bookings. The voucher must be redeemed before 18 January, 2026 (travel does not need to have taken place by this date).  

  1. PUBLICITY: Break reserves the right to publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place for The Prize Draw – for example, the surname and county of residence of the Winner. Affected Winners have the right to object to all or part of this information being published or made available – in such event they should inform Break in writing. In such circumstances, entrants acknowledge that Break must nevertheless still provide the information and winning entry to the ASA or equivalent regulator on request.  
  1. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Break reserves the right to cancel, suspend, and/or modify The Prize Draw, in whole or in part, due to any fraud, bugs, virus, technical failures, changes in the law, or any other factor beyond reasonable control that impairs the integrity or proper functioning of The Prize Draw, as reasonably determined by Break.   
  1. REFUNDS, RETURNS, AND EXCHANGES:  We do not provide refunds for Entry Fees once a Prize Draw has closed. 
  1. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY; SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY: Nothing in these Official Rules excludes or limits Break’s liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; and (iii) any matter in respect of which it would be unlawful for us to exclude or restrict our liability.  
    If Break fails to comply with these Official Rules, Break will be responsible for the loss or damage Participant suffers that is a foreseeable result but Break is not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable.  
     
    Notwithstanding the second paragraph of this section and save as set out in the first paragraph of this section, Break’s maximum liability to you under these Official Rules, our aggregate liability to you or any third party in any circumstance shall not exceed one hundred British pounds sterling (£100). 
     
    If for any reason, a Participant’s entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, Participant’s sole remedy is another entry in The Prize Draw. 
  1. GOVERNING LAW; JURISDICTION: These Official Rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales. This means that your participation in the Prize Draws and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection therewith (including non-contractual disputes or claims), will be governed by English law. You can bring proceedings in respect of these Official Rules in the English courts. However, as a consumer, if you live in another part of the UK you will also benefit from any mandatory provisions of your local laws and can bring legal proceedings in respect of these Official Rules in either the English courts or the competent court of your country of habitual residence. 
  1. PERSONAL INFORMATION: Promoter only uses Participant’s personal information in accordance with the Break Privacy Notice (referred to here as the “Privacy Notice”). Please take the time to read the Privacy Notice as it includes important information and terms which apply to each Participant.
