GoGoDiscover is the latest GoGo sculpture trail to hit the streets and shores of Norwich and Norfolk. It's delivered by the charity Break, in partnership with Wild in Art.

From Monday 27th June to Saturday 10th September 2022 you'll be able to find 55 T.rex sculptures and 98 smaller Breakasaurus sculptures on the streets of our fine city. In addition, this year a further 24 Steppe Mammoth sculptures can be discovered across the county.

The 79 large sculptures have been decorated by an artist and sponsored by a local business. The smaller Breakasaurus sculptures form the Learning & Community Programme, where schools and community groups got involved, unleashing their creativity.

GoGoDiscover will be on the streets from Monday the 27th of June to Saturday the 10th of September 2022.

You're right but GoGoDiscover is returning this summer offering you T.rextra fun! 

The 21 sculptures in the city summer 2021 teaser trail will return for the 2022 larger county-wide trail. Most of them will be in new locations, and they look forward to seeing you again. The second half of this two-year trail of prehistoric proportions includes a ginormous 177 T.rex in Norwich and Steppe Mammoth sculptures across Norfolk to raise funds for local charity Break.

There is also a GoGoDiscover Learning & Community Programme, in partnership with Dipple & Conway Opticians, which means you can hunt for 98 smaller 'Breaksasaurus' T.rex in Norwich too.

While there is no entry fee to see the sculptures prowling the streets of Norwich and Norfolk this summer, we do suggest that, if you're able, you donate £1 or more to Break when you pick up your trail map, or scan a QR code on one of the sculpture plaques. All funds raised will improve the lives of children in care and young adults as they leave care.

There's a variety of reasons why we choose a location. We think about how well people will be able to access the site, whether it's well-lit and safe, how your photos will look, as well as finding areas of the city and county you might not ordinarily visit.

For the county sculptures, we also consider placing them in areas where you could spend the rest of your day exploring and visiting Norfolk attractions.

This year there are a few options for planning your route:

1. From the 27th June you can download the GoGoDiscover app for £1.79 from the Apple store or Google Play Store.
2. Soon you will be able to download the trail map from Break's website.
3. From 17th June you can pick up a map from one of the trail map hubs across the city and county. 

There is a suggested donation of £1 per map to Break. You will be able to make your donation in a collection pot at one of the trail map hubs or click here to donate securely via our website.

As you explore the trail you'll see that many of the sculpture art is dedicated to our planet and the environmental crisis we face. Supporters, sponsors and staff members have all highlighted the need for us to be as eco-minded as we can be, and this topic is of huge importance to Break and the people we support. 

So this year:

• We're printing fewer trail maps and have worked with Barnwell Print, a local print company who were the first Norfolk printers to become 'carbon balanced'. Trailgoers will be encouraged to download the GoGoDiscover app or find an electronic copy of the trail map online. 
• We'll be sharing messages about the environment on social media throughout the trail, highlighting the important eco-messaging many of the sculptures display, and encouraging all sponsors involved in the trail to do the same.
• Approximately 20% of the plinths the sculptures stand on will are made from wood which will be recycled at the end of the trail. We are also making a concerted move to the reuse of our concrete plinths if we run any future trails.
• We are reusing any materials we can from our previous sculpture trails.

Wild in Art is a leading producer of spectacular public art events that entertain, enrich, inform and leave a lasting legacy. It brings together businesses and creative sectors with schools and local communities through the creation of uniquely painted sculptures.
Since 2008 Wild in Art has animated cities worldwide, including Manchester, Sydney, Auckland, Cape Town and São Paulo, and created trails for the London 2012 Olympics, the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Historic Royal Palaces and Penguin Random House.

That question might be too difficult for us to answer! Determined trailgoers might be able to get around the T.rex city trail in one day, but with more than 65 miles between some of the sculptures in Kings Lynn in the west and Great Yarmouth in the east, you'll need a few days to be able to get around them all.

As well as simple family fun and raising funds for Break, this trail is all about the local community. We encourage you to look up and out, particularly while tracking down the 24 Steppe Mammoths to discover some of the best things our county has on offer.

We try to make the locations as accessible as possible, but some will be easier to access than others. For example, we've long wanted to bring a sculpture to the picturesque Elm Hill in Norwich, but appreciate those cobbles might not be the easiest to navigate. If you've spotted your favourite on our website and are worried about its location, please get in touch. We'll be more than happy to share exactly where it is and what's underfoot, crutch or wheel!

Yes, there's no reason not to, but please bear in mind that some of the T.rex in the city are in pedestrianised zones.

Yes! This was the most asked question during 2021, and this year we're delighted to be working with ROARR Dinosaur Adventure, the Eastern Daily Press and Dodo and Dinosaur. Details will be released soon so keep an eye on our social media. The ROARR Dinosaur Adventure merchandise is limited edition, so you will want to be quick!

There are 78 T.rex and Steppe Mammoth stickers to collect, some of which are special shiny stickers. They are in packs of five, and you have until Saturday the 10th of September to collect them all. 

From the 25th of June, the Eastern Daily Press and Norwich Evening News are publishing a voucher each day which you can exchange for a pack of five stickers. 

Every Saturday, both papers will include two vouchers for two packs. 

Vouchers will also appear in the weekly Great Yarmouth Mercury, Dereham & Fakenham Times, Beccles & Bungay Journal, Lowestoft Journal and North Norfolk News newspaper titles. 

If you are extra keen to finish your album early, you can buy up to 10 individual stickers – subject to availability – by calling 01603 772738 and speaking to the customer service team. These stickers will be 20p each.

Many of the sculptures will be auctioned at a special event at Norwich Cathedral on the 28th of September 2022. The money raised will go to children's charity Break, to stamp out the mammoth expectations placed on young adults as they leave care.

This year, we'll be live streaming the event onto the GoGoDiscover Facebook page, so no one has to miss out on the action. 

The Breakasaurus sculptures will be returned to the schools or community groups that created them.

In total there are 179 sculptures: 55 large T.Rex, 24 large Steppe Mammoth sculptures and 98 Breakasaurus (these are smaller T.rex sculptures standing around 90cm tall).

There are three GoGoDiscover trails running alongside each other. 

1. The large T.rex trail is within the boundary of Norwich's inner ring road. 
2. The large Steppe Mammoth trail reaches across the county.
3. The trail of smaller Breakasaurus sculptures are also dotted around our city streets. 

North Norfolk is home to the Deep History Coast, and we're celebrating that with GoGoDiscover this year. Steppe Mammoths once ranged across the plains of the area now known as Norfolk, and the largest, most complete fossil of one of these great creatures was found near West Runton. And T.rex are just roar-some, right? So we couldn't wait to bring these beasts to the city!

Wild in Art sculptures are designed as a canvas for art and are made of lightweight, fire-resistant fibreglass. While each sculpture has been robustly tested to withstand any damage, we advise keeping off the sculptures and not climbing on them. The T.rex sculptures measure in at 180cm tall and 220cm long, weighing around 80kg before being attached to their base. The Steppe Mammoths stand 183cm tall and 220cm long, also weighing in at around 80kg before they are attached to their base.

This year we won't be bringing all the sculptures together; the size and scale of the trail mean it's just not possible. But we do want GoGoDiscover fans to be able to say an extra special goodbye to their favourites, so on the last weekend of the trail, we'll be having a 'Farewell Festival'. We really hope this won't happen, but on the chance it does, there is a damage reporting number to call on the trail map and each of the sculptures' plinths. We have a team of Trail Rangers making sure the sculptures are clean and damage-free throughout the summer, but please tell us about damage if you spot it by calling 01603 670460.

The large sculptures were decorated by a total of 50 professional and amateur artists who submitted their designs almost a year prior to the trail starting! 35 out of the 50 artists are from the local region, 21 artists are brand new to Break's trails, and 13 have never painted a sculpture before.

Each sponsor selected their sculpture's individual design. We have an extra individual Steppe Mammoth who was yarn bombed during the Norfolk Makers' Market – you can find The Really Woolly Mammoth in St Nicholas Parish Church in Dereham.

The Breakasaurus sculptures, which you'll see as part of the Learning & Community Programme, have been decorated by schools and community groups.

There will be some concrete bases and wooden bases available to buy. The main fee will be a delivery cost which we can provide a quote nearer to auction date as required.

Our sculptures which are currently displayed in internal locations generally are more suited to indoor use, however the other sculptures have been treated with varnish to protect them from the elements. Over time they will need to re-done and we can recommend a suitable supplier.

No, but from previous trails we know that the sculpture price can range from £3k – £22K with a n average price being approx. £7k
