Celebrating Break at the second annual Flourish Awards 2025

9 Oct 2025

The Flourish Awards, delivered by Norfolk County Council is a special annual celebration recognising the people and organisations across Norfolk who go above and beyond to help children and young people thrive. Held at the Assembly House, this year’s ceremony was a proud moment for Break, with young people and staff alike all involved in the evening.

Aidan, one of the young people we support, took to the stage as a compere, helping to host and present the awards. In his own words, Aidan shared beforehand:

“This year, I have the opportunity to represent Break as a compere at the Flourish Awards ceremony. I’m feeling quite nervous and excited at the same time! Compering the event is all about youth voice, which is very important to me, as it’s the opportunity for young people like me to express how they feel and to be heard.”

Standing on stage in front of a packed room is no small feat, and we’re incredibly proud of his courage and confidence in stepping out of his comfort zone to represent young people’s voices so powerfully.

We were also delighted to see another young person supported by Break, take on an important role behind the scenes as a member of the judging panel. They had spent seven hours reviewing the nominations, helping to decide this year’s winners, and enjoyed some fantastic conversations throughout the evening.

Our team were also represented, with Dan Lummis (Head of Disability Services) and the Emotional Wellbeing Service both receiving nominations in recognition of their work supporting children and young people. While they didn’t take home trophies this time, they will always be winners in our eyes.

A huge thank you to all of the team involved for supporting our young people to shine.

Moments like these truly show what it means to care differently.
