This Christmas you can give the love and stability everyone deserves, not just for today but every day.

Remember a time when someone was there for you? Maybe it was someone attending your school play, helping you study for exams, or supporting you as you moved into your first home.

Now imagine facing those moments alone. For many young people in care, this is a reality.

This Christmas, you could be there for a young person who, through no fault of their own, has had an incredibly challenging start to life.

You can help to ensure they have someone by their side every day of the year. Someone who is there for all those things life can throw at you. Good or bad.

Why should you be there?

Many children and young people living in care face life without a stable, loving presence. At Break we focus on creating lasting, meaningful relationships that offer guidance, emotional support and practical life skills.

Whether it's helping them develop their confidence, celebrate personal milestones, or navigate the challenges of adult life - we’re there so they never face life's challenges alone.

Your donation ensures they have someone to lean on all year round.

“When I first moved into my own flat after leaving care, I felt a bit lost. I had no idea how to live on my own. Rosie from Break was a lifesaver, taking me on my first few food shops. I didn’t know where to start, but her support made everything easier.”

Mel, 22.

“I’ve always loved art, and my foster carers have fully supported my passion. With their encouragement, I’m excited to finish my GCSEs and head to art college. Knowing they’ll be with me every step of the way gives me so much confidence for what’s ahead.”

Micheal, 15.

FAQs

How will my donation help?

Your donation will have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of young people living in care and moving on from care. It helps provide essential services such as emotional support, life skills training and mentoring ensuring that they have all the tools they need to thrive. It means they can have experiences that they would never normally have and help them find their passions and their spark. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us create a brighter future for them.

Can I make a regular monthly donation?

Absolutely. By setting up a regular gift, you'll provide ongoing support for young people who need it most. Regular donations allow us to plan and sustain our services, ensuring we can be there for every young person, every day. It’s easy to set up through our website or by contacting our fundraising team at fundraising@break-charity.org.

Can I donate items instead of money?

Of course! While financial donations are vital in supporting our services, we also welcome donations of goods. You can donate clothing, books, household items, and more to our charity shops, where the proceeds directly fund our work with young people. These contributions are just as valuable and help us continue providing essential support. If you’re unsure what to donate, feel free to contact us or visit our shop pages here. Every donation, whether money or goods, makes a difference.

How else can I get involved?

There are many ways to get involved beyond donating! You can volunteer your time by helping with our events or mentoring young people. You could also fundraise by organizing your own event or participating in one of ours. Or you could nominate Break as your workplace Charity of the Year! Additionally, raising awareness by sharing our mission with your friends, family, or social networks makes a big impact. Whether you give time, raise funds, or simply spread the word, your involvement helps us continue supporting our young people.
