Christmas is a time for celebration, family, and making special memories. Sadly for many children across East Anglia this is not the case. In their short lives they have suffered serious abuse and neglect, leaving them struggling with emotional and psychological trauma, feeling unsafe and alone. For them, Christmas can be a scary and traumatic period. We are changing that this Christmas.
At Break we give vulnerable children and young people the time, support, and love they need to achieve their full potential. Through innovation, lifelong relationships and keeping our young people at the heart of what we do, we are transforming futures and changing lives. Please help them today.
Your money this Christmas will directly go to support vulnerable children and young adults. Working together we can make amazing things happen.
£15 pays for Christmas lunch and festive goodies for a vulnerable young person to make their Christmas Day a day to remember for years to come.
£30 enables a disabled child to have a Christmas outing and experience activities for the first time, improving their quality of life.
£45 helps contribute to therapeutic counselling for a child who has suffered traumatic abuse before being taken into care, enabling them to engage in festivities this Christmas.
The young people we support, with help from their key workers, have put together a Christmas Wish List of items that would help them on their journey through life and with Break. From weighted blankets for comfort and security to feel safe on cold winter’s nights to memory boxes to keep forever, these gifts provide a wonderful truly personal present to a vulnerable young person this Christmas.
Wear a festive hat or a silly scarf, or create crazy hair and get every single person you know to do the same, then donate £3 – it is that simple!
You don’t need to buy a new hat, why not make one or decorate an old one? You could even pop along to your local Break shop and see what they have on offer as part of our ‘Charity Shop Challenge’! It's so simple to donate:
