How Grant Thornton UK and Break made a difference together

1 Jul 2020

There are many ways you can raise money for Break as an individual – a sponsored sports event, a bake sale, attending one of our exciting events – but there are brilliant ways to get involved with us as a corporate too. Choosing Break as your company’s Charity of the Year can benefit us in a multitude of ways, as well as being a brilliant way to boost your employees’ morale and help build a sense of community, both within your workplace and beyond.

One of our brilliant corporate partners is Grant Thornton UK, Norwich, an accountancy firm. They chose us as their Charity of the Year and raised over £6,000 – an amazing total. Grant Thornton UK first made ties with us during the 2018 GoGoHares art trail and very generously sponsored one of the hare sculptures. They also raised further funds for us by throwing some smaller events, such as holding office bake sales and dress down days, and larger events like a Murder Mystery event for clients and businesses in Norwich. This was not only a wonderful chance to raise money for Break, but also was a great way to network with other corporates in the city and acted as a terrific team building exercise within the firm.

“Grant Thornton UK LLP, Norwich staff and associates wholly embraced the year with Break as our Charity of the Year. The support from the Break team was a great boost to our efforts internally.  As well as the team building and networking outcomes from the year (our Murder Mystery is still talked about!), it is wholly rewarding knowing that our efforts have made a difference to the lives of vulnerable young people in our community.” Chris Bailey, Audit Insights & Analytics, Grant Thornton UK LLP

The money raised by them will go on to change so many young people’s lives, and all was done so by having fun! Fundraising can be a brilliant way to get your employees involved, lift spirits, and have a great time – all whilst raising money for a fantastic cause.

We are incredibly grateful to the companies who choose us as their Charity of the Year – their generosity is a huge part of our charitable income and we couldn’t do what we do without them.

Getting your business involved with Break not only makes a difference to your company and employees, but to vulnerable children, young people, and families across East Anglia too. Every partnership is unique and tailored to the business benefits you need to achieve.
