Break launches eBay Hub

2 Nov 2020

Break launches newly updated eBay Hub, based in Gorleston, to provide online retail unit of high quality items.

Jeff Watts, Break Retail Area Manager said, “The coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on all our fundraising activities, not least our network of 45 shops which had to close for a prolonged period of time.  We have now implemented a phased reopening of the retail units, and are innovating and expanding our online opportunities for generating income through the pandemic and beyond.”

Break, with support from eBay, has developed its eBay provision setting up an ‘eBay Hub’ in the Gorleston retail unit.  Alongside the main retail unit, a small team will now be responsible for placing some of the high quality, higher value donated items on to eBay.

“We are planning to put high value items on the eBay Break shop – Lego, designer clothes and handbags, vintage pieces – items that could achieve a higher value put to a wider marketplace than they may do within one of our shop units.  It will make this our nationwide store, based here in Gorleston!”

Jeff continued, “There will be a paid member of staff overseeing the Hub, alongside a team of volunteers to support this process.  This includes researching items, taking photographs, uploading details and responding to queries then packaging and posting.

“It will be wonderful offering such a diverse range of items on the site knowing that proceeds will go to improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people.”
