Competition and raffle terms and conditions

These rules apply to all competitions, draws and promotions run by Break (including Break art trails) online and at in-person events.

  1. Entries to all promotions must be received as stated by the closing date specified.
  2. All promotions are open to anyone in the UK over the age of 18, except the promotor.
  3. Break is registered with the Gambling Commission.  Promoter: Dan Crouch, Break Spar Road, Norwich NR6 6BX.
  4. Break cannot accept responsibility for entries that are lost or delayed, or which are not received for any reason.
  5. Automated/bulk entries and entries from third parties will be disqualified.
  6. The winning entries for each promotion will be the first entries drawn at random after the closing date.
  7. Competition closing dates will only change if there are unavoidable circumstances beyond our control.
  8. No correspondence will be entered into, prizes are as stated, are not transferable and there is no cash alternative.
  9. Break reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value at any time or withdraw the promotion if there are matters outside our control.
  10. The decisions of the Judges are final. Neither correspondence nor discussion concerning any decision shall be entered into.
  11. Break is fully compliant with GDPR and we will not pass on your details to any third party without your explicit consent.
  12. Break reserves the right to disqualify any entry if it has reasonable grounds to believe you have breached any of these terms and conditions.
  13. Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/YouTube/TikTok – Promotions via these networks must follow the guidelines laid out in the initial post with regards to the mechanic to enter. Promotions are in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/YouTube/TikTok. You are providing your information to Break and not to the network. The information you provide will only be used for the purposes of the promotion. By entering, you agree to your information being used for such purpose. Anyone found to be using multiple accounts to enter will be disqualified. Participants must have an authentic account registered in the UK to participate.
  14. If your entry includes a photo or video, before you feature anyone else in your photo/video, you must have obtained their consent to photograph/video them and to submit the photo/video to Break.
  15. Everything you submit must be your own original work and not copied from anyone else’s. By submitting a photo/video you agree and confirm that it does not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third party. If you include anyone else’s material in your photo/video, you must have obtained their permission to do so. If you don’t, you will be infringing the copyright in the material. This includes material downloaded or copied from a website.
  16. By submitting a written submission, photos or videos or any other content as part of the competition entry or after winning a prize, you hereby grant a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, non- exclusive licence to Break to use, reproduce, modify, translate, make available, distribute, publish the film, photo, audio or any other content and to distribute and/or broadcast such content in whole or in part in all media and in all formats (including transmission by way of analogue transmission, digital audio broadcasting, internet, satellite, television, film, cable or telephony or on social media) and to sub-license any other persons to do so, in each case for such purposes as Break may in its reasonable discretion determine.
  17. Prize winners should usually receive their prize within 14 days of claiming their prize and providing necessary details, however please allow up to six weeks. Please see the individual competition information for details of whether delivery costs are included or not.
  18. If you are a winner, you must claim your prize within 28 days of being notified. We will contact you twice using the details you have supplied to us and if you have not responded within 28 days of our first contact, the prize will be forfeited and another winner chosen. It is the winner’s responsibility to notify Break of any change in contact information.
  19. Acceptance of these rules is a condition of entry and receipt of an entry by Break amounts to your acceptance.
  20. As outlined in the GDPR legislation, by entering competitions on Break we have a lawful basis to process your information and this gives Break or our authorised third party connected to the competition consent to contact you via post, email, telephone or social media to keep you updated about your entry and organise fulfilment of your prize. We are required to keep these details on file along with the prize you have won.
  21. Prize-winner may be asked to appear in photographs for marketing purposes. 
  22. You have the right to request your name or any images/video you have supplied to be removed from our website at any time by contacting us on fundraising@break-charity.org
