Break’s Fostering Service is based in Norfolk offering bespoke foster placements to people from all walks of life.


Can you be a Break Foster Carer?

Fostering can be a wonderful and rewarding career.

Break have Foster Carers from all walks of life across East Anglia, and consider each individual case on its merits. 

We like to recruit the best foster carers and provide them with the highest level of support, to give our young people and our foster carers the best possible possible placement.

 What do we offer our Foster Carers?

- 24/7 high level support and on-call service from social workers across Norfolk

- Regular professional supervision from a qualified social worker

- *Market leading payments of between £400 and £600 per week, dependent on the fostering task.

- Regular short breaks 

- Therapeutic group consultation from a qualified therapist once a fortnight

- Excellent training, including the Children’s Workforce Development Council Level 3 Diploma   

- Information on being self-employed and getting your tax right

What makes a good Foster Carer?

 -  An understanding of children and young people’s needs and behaviours

-  Some experience of working with or living with young people

-  Flexibility and time

-  Commitment and the resilience to work through difficulties

-  Open to taking on new ideas and engage with them

-  Good communication skills

-  Able to attend regular support and training offered by Break for its carers

Our fostering service is available on a spot purchase or preferred provider basis. It is aimed at children who, for complex reasons, need a single placement.
