We are walking 50 miles for Break

My Break 50 Challenge

Break is celebrating 50 years of changing young lives in 2018.  To mark this we are asking our individual, corporate and community supporters to take a My Break 50 challenge.

In 2018, we celebrate our 50th anniversary, 50 years changing the lives of vulnerable children and young people across East Anglia.

To celebrate our 50th Anniversary, we are calling on YOU, all our wonderful individual, corporate and community supporters to join us in taking part in the ‘My Break 50 Challenge’.  This can be any challenge you want it to be.  Some wonderful ideas for challenges to do individually or as part of a group could be:

  • Giving up alcohol for 50 days
  • Reading 50 books
  • Walking 50 miles across Norfolk
  • Running 50k in five 10k runs
  • Baking 50 cakes and having a cake sale
  • Donating 50 things to a Break charity shops

 Where your money will go.

To celebrate our 50th Anniversary, we aim to raise £50,000 to set up a new Building Futures fund to invest in our young people, our community and our future.  The fund will support:

Our Young People

This part of the fund will help support the aspirations of the children and young people we work with.  This could be support with entry into employment through apprenticeship or further education, help with driving lessons or to nurture talent and independence

Our Communities

This part of the fund will support children, young people and the communities they live in.  This could be projects like a ‘support when you need it’ drop-in service, a community fund to help vulnerable young people and families set up a home or making all our Break shops dementia friendly.

Our Future

This will be a fund to kick start a commercial enterprise which will invest in and provide sustainable funding for our children, young people and families and their communities.
