Recreation Road Infant School Go Quackers!

The school children had fun while fundraising for Break.

Every year Recreation Road Infant School chooses to fundraise for a charity which they feel plays an important role in supporting their local community and has been in the life of some of its children.

This year the pupils held two school fundraising events, a cinema evening experience, where the children stayed after school in classes to enjoy a film and popcorn, plus a sponsored mile run around the school field.

All 360 pupils took part in the run, supported by their friends and families. Their aim was to raise £600 for Break which would also enable them to buy 12 large ducks to decorate and enter in the 2019 Grand Norwich Duck Race in August. The total raised now stands at £1,338 - an amazing amout for the charity.

Louise Stone from the school said, "We were very pleased to exceed our target by more than double the expected amount and are delighted to be able to help so many children and families with the money raised".

If you, your school, community group, or business would like to take part in the 2019 Grand Norwich Duck Race and sponsor event, please contact sarah.bunn@break-charity.org now to find out more.
