Lunch on the Green 2019

This was the 11th annual event in aid of Break.

Another year, another success! The sun was shining on Wednesday 10th July as Break Charity and Clapham & Collinge came together to put on their 11th annual ‘Lunch on the Green’ event.

The day served as an excellent networking opportunity for local businesses, whilst raising money for the young people and families that Break supports. With 40 businesses exhibiting and almost 300 people attending, the event raised an incredible £7,898.

The day was jam-packed full of exciting activities – from face painting with the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce to wine tasting with Eastern Financial Consultants, roulette with Kings & Queens Fun Casinos to eating canapés supplied by The Feed. Attendees listened to live music acts whilst networking and drinking mouth-watering mocktails from 7 Surrey Street – there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Break would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who either exhibited or attended, and especially to Louis Hilldrup-Boorman (Marketing Manager at Clapham & Collinge and Trustee Observer at Break) for doing such a fantastic job organising the event.

“In its 11th year, this year's event was by far my favourite,” said Louis. “The atmosphere was buzzing, guests were having fun and, despite the ever-changing forecast, the weather held out too! It was great to see so many Norfolk businesses coming together to support a charity close to my heart. A huge thank you to those who supported our biggest event of the year. I must take this opportunity to thank my colleagues too - an event of this size requires many hands on deck and I'm very grateful for their support. I'm proud to work with such a great bunch of people.”

All of this summer fun was also for a truly worthwhile cause – the £7,898 raised will make life more hopeful for vulnerable young people and families Break supports.

Break’s Fundraising Events Manager, Sarah Bunn, said “Lunch on the Green is an event that has grown hugely since its conception in 2008 – raising more than £33,000 for Break Charity. Louis and the Clapham & Collinge team have worked incredibly hard to ensure that the organisation of the event is second to none and we are proud to be associated with this event as a charity partner, knowing we are in safe hands for a tremendous event! Our thanks must go to Louis, the Clapham & Collinge team, Lunch on the Green exhibitors, and guests for their continued support; helping us to make life better for the vulnerable children, young people and families we support”.
