A Gorilla Thriller for Norfolk Businesses - so say the Norwich Evening News who came along to take pics for the 'Go Go Gorillas!' project at Carter Builders in Drayton.

In the urban jungle somewhere near Norwich, 17 gorillas came out to play.  They also met some of the businesses who have already sponsored a gorilla for the ‘Go Go Gorillas!’ art project.

This world class mass public appeal art event will take place for 10 weeks during the summer of 2013. The gorilla trail through the City of Norwich and environs will encourage thousands of people to discover and re-discover our fine City, providing community and education projects, highlighting environmental issues and the plight of one of the world’s most endangered species.

Companies meeting their gorilla for the first time today included Carters, Norwich City College, Norse, Clapham & Collinge, Moco, EDP/Evening News, Smith & Pinching, Butcher Andrews, Starfish Installations, Proclaimers, Almary Green, Norwich School and Jarrolds.  Other sponsors are Riverside who will have two gorillas, Camphill Community, Norwich 99.9 and the Assembly House. Several other companies have expressed an interest in getting involved and we look forward to welcoming them to ‘Go Go Gorillas!’ Norwich 2013.

Break is working with Wild in Art, the UK’s leader in bringing the creativity and enjoyment of public art to thousands of people through its high profile and popular events and the Born Free Foundation, to bring the gorillas to the streets of Norwich.

We are delighted to announce that local PR agency, Jungle PR have come on board to give us all their award winning PR skills to promote ‘Go Go Gorillas!’ far and wide. They join other supporters Norwich 99.9, the Forum, Osborne Nash, Lee Blanchflower Photography, COG Media, Farrows, Love Norwich, M & A Partners, Space, Art Collector, Maverick Gallery, Mik Richardson, Ross White and Norfolk Chamber of Commerce.

If your company is interested in sponsoring a gorilla, or if you are an artist and would like to submit a design for a gorilla, please contact the Project Manager, Martin Green on 01603 670107 or email martin.green@break-charity.org. Sponsorship is £4,000 + VAT, bespoke packages are available.

On Tuesday 27 November, Break will be holding a ‘Go Go Gorillas!’ showcase event at the Assembly House in Norwich for artists to show their designs and for sponsors to choose a design for their gorilla. Potential sponsors are also welcome to come to learn more about this exciting event for 2013.

The gorillas will go to auction towards the end of September 2013 for Break and Born Free Foundation.
